A Message From Alex October 2023

Posted on: October 4th, 2023 by Oswald's Pharmacy Team

With one month of the 2023-24 school year behind our belt, we should be bracing for cooler temperatures, right? It sure doesn’t feel that way as I write this! Let’s all cross our fingers for some cooler Halloween winter so our kids can comfortably wear their costumes of choice.

Cooler Weather, Fall Festival, and New Items

October marks the spot where the Oswald’s team fully gears up for the holiday season, starting with Halloween. The aisles in the store are stocked with Halloween candy, costume accessories, gift items, and decorations. Annual Halloween warning: last-minute Halloween candy shopping is not advised. You may be stuck with candy that kids don’t like!

We’re also hosting the annual Naperville Plaza Fall Festival on October 28th from 1-4pm. This year features activities including trick-or-treating, face painters, ballon decorations, and a live DJ, with more to be announced! Make sure to RSVP on Facebook!

If you’ve been in the store recently you’ve probably noticed our BOGO (buy one get one free) card sale. We’ve decided to continue this sale through October, so be sure to stock up on the greeting cards you need for the holidays and beyond.

Pharmacy News

The pharmacy/medical equipment side of Oswald’s has also had some recent developments I want to mention. First, our new Geneva medical equipment store is now fully stocked, including amazing new products from industry innovators like Stander (aids to daily living), Actimove (orthopedic braces), Trustcare (rollators), and much more. If you or a family member needs home medical equipment but lives too far north of Naperville, be sure to remember our Geneva location.

The biggest piece of Oswald’s news for October is the introduction of our new pharmacy manager, Melissa McLean. Melissa grew up in the southwest suburbs and graduated from The University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. Melissa worked at CVS for 20 years and finally had enough of the corporate world, making the switch to a trusted family-owned business. Be sure to stop by and say “hi” to our new pharmacist the next time you need a refill!

Learn more about Melissa and her tips for flu season in her first Ozzie Gram column here. Thanks for your continued support and I hope to see you around the store soon.
