Expedited 2-Hour RT-PCR/Molecular COVID-19 Test

From: $149.00

Product Description

Schedule an appointment for a PCR/Molecular COVID-19 Test and get your results in under 2 hours!*.

With dry air, as is common in winter, the tissue lining the nasal cavity is more susceptible to injury and bleeding. Please use a humidifier in your bedroom the night before or in the hours leading up to your appointment, as it may help reduce the likelihood of a bloody nose. You may also take a hot shower in the hours leading up to your appointment to keep nasal mucous hydrated and flowing, preventing nose bleeds.

*Technician will have more information on when to expect your 2-hour results, or will contact you if there are any delays. Results will always be reported same day.

*** Please note that all appointments will incur a $25 cancellation fee. Due to limited access and the time-sensitive nature of COVID testing, appointments cannot be rescheduled or transferred. Only book an appointment if you intend to get tested. Do not book an appointment if you intend to keep searching elsewhere **

PCR/Molecular COVID-19 Test FAQ

  • Aren’t Covid-19 Tests Free? Yes, many tests are free! Here’s a link to find free local testing sites from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Due to the convenience, cost, and speed to administer this test in a rapid fashion, we’re currently unable to bill public or private insurance.
  • How will I receive my results? You will be texted your results as soon as they are processed. If you do not have a mobile phone, we can also email your results. When you finish signing up for your test, you will be directed to Simple Report to provide additional information to receive your test results through their secured website. Please check your results to make sure they meet any desired requirements. Email lab@oswaldspharmacy.com if you have any questions about your results, or need something changed.
  • When should I take this test? If you’ve been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is symptomatic.
  • Will this test allow me to travel/work if someone needs proof? It depends. This is a molecular test. Check with whatever agency, organization, or business is requiring a test. We also offer rapid antigen tests and antibody tests.
  • I’m asymptomatic, can’t I just walk in? *DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING* We need all tests to be taken from your car, parked in the back of our store. Our workflow and choice to put the test in the back of the store are to protect patient privacy, our technician, and other customers from those tests that are positive.
  • How Accurate is the Test? There’s over a 99% accuracy for measuring positive test results. This is the current gold standard of Covid-19 tests with over 99% accuracy, preferred by many agencies for travel. Click here to learn more. Please follow all CDC guidelines on safety practices even after testing negative.
  • Does this test include a QR code? Our PCR test does not include a QR Code required by some countries for international travel. Before signing up, please verify with your airline/destination what requirements they have for PCR tests. The results will be sent from SimpleReport.gov, a United States Government testing database.
  • Do you allow ‘drive-ups’ if I don’t have an appointment? Due to high demand, we are currently not accepting drive-ups. Appointments are mandatory, if you do not have an appointment you will be turned away.
  • Do you bill insurance? Due to the nature of this rapid test, we are unable to bill insurance. Under the CARES act, many tests can be covered by providers. Please check with your insurance provider if you need to be reimbursed. Oswald’s will supply you with a digital form including all of the necessary information to submit for possible reimbursement. We always recommend calling your insurance company in advance to confirm they’ll cover the test before signing up if you need to be reimbursed.
  • What happened to Oswald’s 1-hour and 24-72 hour PCR testing options? As 24-72 hour PCR tests are available widely and covered by insurance, our partnership ended with Bridge Diagnostics who used to process those PCR tests in a lab in California. As we now have the equipment to do PCR testing in-house, we no longer need to overnight tests to the lab in California. Due to test cassette fragility, if we need to re-process a test for accurate results, we can no longer always promise 1-hour tests. If you have any additional questions, please email lab@oswaldspharmacy.com. Thanks!
