As our customers know, we’re often looking to the future to keep the old family business afloat. From Grandpa Oswald’s soda fountain in the 1910s to our robust response to the COVID-19 crisis—we’re always taking care of our community be it in good times or bad. No matter what the issue. Today, I’ve pulled up an Oswald’s advertisement from the Naperville Clarion dated  December 11th, 2024— a short 100 years ago! As much seems to change, it’s nice to know that 100 years later, some things stay the same, especially here at Oswald’s Pharmacy.

Carrying Gifts & Essentials for Over 100 Years

While we’ve all got the internet at our fingertips, and it seems a gift certificate is always the easy way out, if you’d like to delight your family and friends with a unique, thoughtful gift, we’ve got you covered! Or as Grandpa Oswald wrote 100 years ago “The question of ‘what to give’ and the other queries of prices and ‘where procurable’ are solved daily by our store patrons.” So why not patronize our aisles and procure the perfect gift this holiday season?

Just like the advertisement from a century ago we still carry; Christmas sweets, toiletries (referred to as beauty aids/personal hygiene items these days), stationary, and manicure sets! But some things do change… Here are a few of my favorite unique items we’ve got ready to gift this season:

• For Kids: Santa’s Kindness Ornament—scan the QR code each day leading up to Christmas and the kids get multiple video messages a day on how to spread kindness this holiday season.
