A Message From Alex September 2023

Posted on: September 5th, 2023 by Oswald's Pharmacy Team

The Oswald’s team recently celebrated our annual summer store party at the end of August! We intended on it being annual, but the first one we held was in 2019… So, we took a few years off and started it up again last year.

It was great to get most of the team and their families together to have fun, and raffle off some gift cards, and Cubs and Sox tickets! Bill said whoever wins the Sox tickets isn’t too lucky, as I hear they’re not doing too well this year. Third-generation owner Harold Kester would be disappointed. He was a BIG Sox fan.

A “Vintage” Business

I also designed a shirt for the team and their kids featuring a vintage logo from a 1980s Naperville Sun advertisement. Next to it, I designed a stylized image of our punch-in clock that had been in use since my grandfather Bob owned the pharmacy! It says “How I Clocked In At Oswald’s” as we’re finally graduating to a digital clock-in system next month as we work with a new payroll company.

As much as I value all of Oswald’s long history, and the antiques all over the store (and in my office!) sometimes you need to move on and change with the times. I think the previous five generations of my family realized this too. As the only constant is change, we’ve never stayed still, and constantly make changes at Ozzie’s to make sure we’re serving the community in the best way we can. Thanks for your continued support. Keep an eye out for a new pharmacist in the near future and be sure to stop by and say hello! ℞
