A Message From Alex October 2022

Posted on: October 4th, 2022 by Oswald's Pharmacy Team

With the autumnal equinox taking place on September 22nd, the weather decided to play its part! Just the day before on the 21st we had a high of 85 degrees. By Thursday it dropped to 65 (a low of 46). My wife Jenna and I had a fire and cooked chili and roasted marshmallows over it with our kids and a few good friends. A great way to kick off the fall season!

Here at the pharmacy, we put out our Halloween candy, fall decorations, and winter wear for the colder days ahead. We’ve got a great selection of the most popular fun-size candy bars, along with some harder-to-find allergy-friendly Halloween candy. For ‘fancier’ Halloween candy options, Abdallah Candies from Minnesota makes some delightful treats. My favorite is ‘Jack’s Surprise’ a chocolate-covered Oreo. The foil-covered chocolate turkeys and Original Cocoa Bombs will be here any day now!

Flu Shots, COVID Boosters, & More

Our pharmacy staff created a lovely display at the counter to reflect the October ‘blog’ (below & online) about flu, the common cold & COVID-19. You can read some great tips on the differences between the three, and stock up on essentials to keep your family feeling their best this fall – even if they happen to be under the weather.

We’ve also been continuing to give the new bivalent COVID-19 boosters from both Moderna & Pfizer, along with flu shots (both the standard and high-dose). Walk-in appointments are available for flu shots 10am-7pm on weekdays and 10am-5pm on weekends. You can sign up for both adult and pediatric COVID-19 vaccines online at oswaldspharmacy.com

Not sure what’s got you or a family member under the weather? We’re still able to bill 8 at-home COVID-19 tests per person, per household, per month on most insurance plans. Stop by the pharmacy and stock up. You don’t even need to be an everyday pharmacy customer!

Lastly, check out our new RxEars hearing test kiosk near the pharmacy. It’s a simple two-minute test that will show your results at the end. If there are any hearing issues, you can talk to our Medical Equipment staff about what new hearing aid options are available. No prescription needed!
