As the father of an infant and a toddler, I always love seeing new items that help parents. Especially ones that fit into product categories at Oswald’s Pharmacy! While we’re not necessarily a shoe or clothing store, our gift buyers bring in plenty of carefully curated boutique lines we know our customers will love. Vivi G’z is definitely one of those lines!
In Vivi G’z YouTube Video the founder and creator, Allison Childs, discusses how the product was designed. Vivi G’z were designed to address three key needs: 1. to keep an infant’s socks on 2. To keep baby pant legs in place and keep legs and feet covered and protected 3. To offer a product that cannot be easily removed by the baby. It seems like a simple idea, but had clearly not been addressed by the industry at-large!
The Bootie Baby Can’t Take Off
When we were considering bringing the product into the store, I got to sit down with creator Allison Childs. We discussed how she came up with the idea and all the research and hard work that went into creating this innovative and stylish product. By the end of our discussion, I thought it would be a great line to bring into the store! But first I had to put it to the test. What better way to test baby-proof socks than on my own kid who never stops moving and loves losing his socks minutes after putting them on?
I purchased a pair of 12-18 mo. Paxton’s; A heather grey bootie for my 9-mo. old. If you’re asking why I got a 12-18 mo. pair for my 9 mo. old – he’s got chunky legs! Allison said it’s okay to go up or down sometimes based on the child’s size. After three days of a 9-month-old crawling, rolling, kicking, grabbing, pulling and attempting to walk, they passed the test with flying colors. They didn’t fall off once! He even tried picking away at them from time to time. Not only was I impressed, my skeptical wife Jenna also commended the product for doing what no other can. We’re hooked!
Vivi G’z: So Comfortable Adults Want a Pair
Beyond the impressive ‘endurance test,’ before our pair of Vivi G’z a walk outside in cold weather consisted of two or more pairs of socks and a blanket. Now a pair of socks and his Vivi G’z keep his feet nice and warm. A blanket still comes into the picture on snow days though!
Another great thing about the Vivi G’z line is that they’re made in America. Not something you see too often when it comes to baby clothing and accessories. Vivi G’z also partners with Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization dedicated to “wearing out poverty” for children. A portion of profits from each pair sold goes to Soles4Souls. If you weren’t a fan of the product already, how can you deny them now?
During my sit down with Allison, I asked her a question she says she hears all of the time: “when will they be made in adult sizes?” Beyond the many aspects of what makes a pair of Vivi G’z a must-have for the infant in your life, they just look downright comfortable. I’m sure that’s why she gets the question so often. So please, stop by the store soon and check out a pair of Vivi G’z!
