Father’s Day is right around the corner! Celebrate and honor dear ole Dad, and other loved ones who embody fatherhood for you, this coming Sunday with all his favorite activities! Is he a golf guy? Does he love the great outdoors? He will surely appreciate a day dedicated to everything he finds fun, and it will be even better knowing you are all together as a family.

Here are few ideas for Father’s Day festivities to get you started:

Take him to a game.

If Dad is into sports, taking him to see a game is always a winning idea! Surprise him with tickets to a Cougars game, or even a Cubs or Sox game for some family fun.

Cook him a steak.

Throw a few steaks on the grill for Dad on his special day. What’s better than a nice juicy steak for dinner? A home-cooked meal by his loved ones will definitely put a smile on his face.

Go on a camping trip.

If he adores nature, then he certainly adore a family camping trip. Start the day with some hiking and fishing, then end off the night with some stories and s’mores by a bonfire. Make it a trip he will never forget!

Listen to music playing nearby.

After a long week, Dad may want to unwind and listen to some of his favorite music. Check out your area for outdoor concerts, music festivals, or even bands playing in small venues or restaurants. The Naperville Park District does a fantastic job bringing the tunes to you in their “Concerts in Your Park” series. Plus, nothing beats seeing those Dad dance moves!

Give him a day of relaxation. 

Relaxing, spa days are not just for the ladies . . . fathers everywhere deserve to be pampered too! Treat him to a professional massage or a hair cut, or keep it simple and hand him a newspaper, a cup of hot coffee, and let him have the morning to relax–he will thank you for it later. 🙂
