O.K., full disclosure. I turned 60 last month. And to think I have barely gotten over receiving that plea for membership from AARP when I turned 50! Time certainly goes by in a hurry.
I remember when I started working at the store for my grandfather. I was thirteen or fourteen and kind of dismissed by the “older” high school help as a kid. I could hardly wait to get to their age and be one of the “big” kids. Seems like it took forever to get to my senior year.
The next forty years seem to have accelerated the passing of time!
Added to this mile marker of age, if you read last month’s OzzieGram our first grandchild, Matilda Sue arrived in April. I have to say, though I am not an expert, that she is the prettiest most special little baby in the world. Her parents, Jenna and our son Alex have just moved to Naperville and it’s fantastic to have them so close.
Alex, who worked for Whole Foods for a number of years, is now working at the store as our marketing and retail specialist. He will be celebrating his first Father’s Day on June 19th, and speaking of Father’s Day….
Make sure you stop in the store and check out everything we have for that special Dad! Besides the best card selection around, we have all sorts of sports themed gifts, from barbecue spatulas to beer glasses. And of course we still have great books, puzzles, figurines, games and Naperville merchandise.
Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads!
Bill
