July 2014

Ten years! We opened in Naperville Plaza almost ten years ago – July 24th, 2004. It’s hard for me to believe that a decade has gone by. But as I walk around downtown Naperville where the store was located for its first 129 years I definitely notice some time has gone by! Between the pending River

Street complex on the South end of town and the new Main Street Promenade on the North, the area continues to change and expand. It is truly a fantastic shopping and dining district. But the congestion and parking in downtown confirms we made a solid decision to move South a mile! I don’t hear many people saying “I wish you were still downtown” anymore. Instead our customers are happy with the parking and location of the Plaza. With great neighbors like Casey’s and Trader Joes the center really is able to serve the daily needs of most families. I am thankful to all our customers who moved with us and the new friends we have made in the Plaza. Over two million people have visited our store in the last ten years and I look forward to serving our customers, new and old, for the next decade – or five!

And don’t forget that our annual Sidewalk Sale is coming up on July 10th and continuing through the 12th! Candles, gifts, toys, books, puzzles and games. We will have something for everyone!
