July 2013

As July 4th is Independence Day, I thought I might take this month’s column to once again encourage everyone to shop our local independent businesses. Why? Your local merchants are always supporting their community’s events, schools and fund raisers. Many local merchants take an active role in our towns service organizations and charitable boards. Local businesses donate to charities at about twice the rate of national chain stores. When you spend a $100 with a local merchant $68 stays in your community. If you spend $100 with a chain store only about $43 stays here. And if you spend $100 over the internet the net to our community is close to zero!

Of course if you’re reading this I thank you, because you already shop with this local business! Great customers are what truly makes this store so special and is why we try so hard to give you the best customer service possible, along with unique, fun merchandise that you don’t see everywhere!

And don’t forget that our annual Sidewalk Sale is coming up on July 11th and continuing through the 13th! Come peruse our annual sale extravaganza of bargain, closeout and seasonal merchandise.  Candles, gifts, toys, books, puzzles, games, Christmas and Fall merchandise. We will have something for everyone!
